Puerto Rico is enforcing local measures developed by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), alongside U.S. Travel Association (USTA) guidelines, such as social distancing, mandatory face coverings in public areas, and a variety of mandates for businesses – including, but not limited to, reduced capacities and high standards of cleanliness in accordance with CDC and EPA guidelines. The Department of Health has increased resources to ensure travelers are abiding by local guidelines.

Travelers entering any of the Island’s three open airports are required to fill out a Travel Declaration Form through the Puerto Rico Health Department’s online portal, get a PCRmolecular COVID-19 test (nasal or throat swab) no more than 72 hours prior to visiting the Island and show proof of a negative result. A rapid test will not be accepted, as it can sometimes yield false results. Those arriving without a negative test are required to upload those results within 48 hours of arrival; those who fail to do so will be fined. The negative test must then be uploaded to the online portal to continue with their trip; if positive, the person must isolate and seek medical attention. If a traveler is still awaiting results from a test taken no more than 72 hours prior to arrival when they land, they will have up to 48 hours to upload those results.

 An Island-wide curfew is in effect from 10:00 PM – 5:00 AM, except for emergencies.Puerto Rico is a U.S. territory and excluded from the CDC requirement to provide a negative COVID-19 test result to return to the mainland United States. Quarantine mandates, recommendations, and entry requirements may vary by state. While the CDC does not require fully vaccinated travelers to get tested prior to traveling, the latest executive order in Puerto Rico maintains the requirement for a negative PCR test result from all travelers entering the Island, regardless of vaccination status. 

Public beaches and natural reserves are open, following social distancing guidelines, withpublic alcohol consumption prohibited. Supermarkets, pharmacies, and gas stations are open, with supermarket delivery services available through midnight. Businesses including restaurants, casinos, museums, and pools at hotels are operating at 30% capacity.Reservations are suggested where applicable given limited capacities Island-wide. Bars remain closed.

At Máre St. Clair Hotel, we are committed to improve our guest experience and to do so by continuous upgrades to our hotel facilities and services. We are currently fully renovating some of our rooms from the ground up. Therefore, you may encounter construction personnel around the property or hear them working on the rooms. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. Workers will be onsite from Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm. As you all know we continued impacted by the Coronavirus pandemic and the Government in an effort to control the constant spread has emitted new Executive Orders (EO) especially for those areas and businesses that have been considered vital for the virus spread. The new Executive Order will be in effect from April 9th – May 9th, 2021. 


Things to know based on the most recent Executive Order 2021-026. Below only the most relevant to us EO-changes: 

  • Public spaces and some amenities in ESJ Towers-condominium such as bars, restaurants, and recreational areas will remain closed until further notice. Guests must not meet in public areas and must remain in their units unless leaving the premises for an authorized activity. 
  • Beach gate will open from 7:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday and 7:00am-6:00pm Saturday/Sunday. The consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited. The members of the family nucleus will have to keep 10 feet away from the other visitors who are not from their family nucleus and must always have their mask on while out of the water. Agglomeration between people outside their family nucleus is prohibited. 
  • All indoor/outdoor activities where social gathering is present are completely prohibited under the EO. 
  • Fitness Center will open exclusively for the family of owners and residents or Bonafide guests (short term rentals) from 6:00 am-6:00 pm daily. Only 4 people at once can use the facility. ✓ Visitors will not be allowed at the fitness center of the condominium 
    • Pets are not allowed inside the Fitness Center 
    • We are requiring that all users wear a mask while in the facilities so you can exercise safely and confidently 
    • Hand Sanitizers have been placed for your convenience 
    • Wipe down equipment before and after each use. There are cleaning stations located inside of the fitness center with disinfectant sprayers and paper towel 
    • Keep safe distance from other people exercising 
    • Only 4 people at once will be allowed to exercise simultaneously. Security and management will monitor 
    • Our personnel will be cleaning the facilities every 60 minutes 
    • Bathrooms will remain closed as safety precaution 
    • No towels or drinking water dispenser will be offered 
    • Each guest will be allowed to exercise for One (1) hour to give opportunity to others 
    • The Administration will have the discretion to close the pool area in case the users do not comply with this protocol 
    • Guest who violates the rules set forth in this protocol will not be allowed to use the fitness center 
  • Swimming Pool Area will open exclusively for the family of owners and residents or Bonafide guests (short term rentals) from 9:00 am-6:00 pm daily. 
    • Visitors, family members, or owners who do not reside in the condominium will NOT be allowed. 
    • The use of the pool will be by reservation. 
    • Swimming Pool Reservation Form will be required to use the pool area. 
      • Form will be available at the front desk from 7:00 am – 11:00 pm. 
      • Form must be submitted at least 24 hours before the scheduled time for use of the pool. 
      • Guests must accept and sign terms and conditions stated in the Form. 
    • It is clarified that both the schedule and the day requested will be subject to availability. 
    • The pool will be used for a maximum of 3 hours. The allowed use for each user or family nucleus will be 3 times per week or subject to availability. 
    • All occupants of the unit must be to register in the Reception to be allowed to request a reservation. 
    • Your temperature will be taken prior entering the pool area. Any person with a temperature higher than 100.4 Fahrenheit or 38 Celsius will not be allowed to use the facilities. 
    • The use of the pool will be limited to 75 people per shift. 
    • At the entrance, exit and grounds of the pool area, all users will have to wear a mask. 
    • The restrooms at the pool area will remain closed. 
    • Furniture and accessories are arranged to comply with social distancing rules. Our maintenance team will be disinfecting them frequently, but we urge you to clean them before sitting down. 
    • Equipment or items for games will NOT be allowed, such as balls, inflatables, and any other that is not safety for infants or people with physical disabilities. 
    • The Administration will have the discretion to close the pool area in case the users do not comply with this protocol. 
    • No celebrations of any kind, accessories or decorations related to any theme will be allowed. 
    • Guest who violates the rules set forth in this protocol will not be allowed to use the pool. 
    • The pool will remain closed during cleaning and chemical treatment. 

The following is a reminder of the actual regulations that still in effect in our building: 

• Elevators: Just one person at the time in the elevator. It is allowed more than one person if the person belongs to the same family nucleus. 

• Guest Laundry area is available to all residents. It is important to have no more than two persons at the same time. 

• All residents and guests must always wear face masks and use hand sanitizer and keep social distance. This also applies to visitors to the property. Signage has been placed at common areas reiterating this process. 

• A check point at the main gate where the security person is located has been implemented to ensure that the residents and workers have their mask and to check their temperature. Also, the security guard will obtain their information such as names, company name, unit to visit, purpose of the visit and time of arrival.
