CORONAVIRUS COVID-19

July 9, 2021

Dear Guests,

Thank you for choosing Máre St. Clair Hotel at Isla Verde Beach for your stay. We hope you find your room in great condition and that it is clean and to your satisfaction. Please, contact us at the Front Desk if there is anything you need during your stay.

TRAVEL GUIDELINES

Those visiting Puerto Rico should review the local measures in place, developed by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company (PRTC), such as social distancing, mandatory face coverings in public areas, and mandates for businesses – including reduced capacities and high standards of cleanliness in accordance with CDC and EPA guidelines. Those who are fully vaccinated are not required to wear masks in public areas.

Travelers entering any of the Island’s three open airports, whether on commercial or private aircraft, are required to fill out a Travel Declaration Form on the Puerto Rico Health Department’s online portal which produces a QR code required to proceed. Both international/not vaccinated travelers must also upload a negative PCR molecular or antigen COVID-19 test result to the portal. Fully vaccinated travelers entering on domestic flights are permitted to upload their vaccination card instead of a negative test. Given federal mandates, the requirement will remain in place for travelers on international flights. All passengers will also be required to present their ID to ensure alignment with the information entered within the Travel Declaration Form.

Processes regarding the need for negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen tests upon entry:

  • For fully vaccinated travelers on domestic flights:
    • Required to upload official Vaccination Card, as proof of vaccination through the Travel Declaration Form portal. Travelers are required to upload their official vaccination card. A copy will not be accepted.

For non-vaccinated travelers arriving on domestic flights:

    • Required to provide evidence of either a PCR molecular or antigen COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival.
    • If the traveler arrives without a test, they must upload either a PCR molecular or antigen COVID-19 test taken on the Island, within 48 hours of arrival, or they will receive a $300 fine.
    • If the uploaded result is negative, the quarantine is lifted. If the result is positive, the person must isolate and follow the local isolation protocol at his/her own expense.

For international travelers, regardless of vaccination status:

    • Required to provide evidence of either a PCR molecular or antigen COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of arrival.
    • If the traveler arrives without a test, they will be required to upload either a PCR molecular or antigen COVID-19 test taken on the Island, within 48 hours of arrival, or they will receive a $300 fine.
    • If the uploaded result is negative, the quarantine is lifted. If the result is positive, the person must isolate and follow the local isolation protocol at his/her own expense.

Processes for symptomatic travelers (those displaying COVID-19 related symptoms):

  • If a symptomatic traveler (a person who is displaying COVID-19 related symptoms) who is not vaccinated or is traveling internationally arrives on the Island, the Puerto Rico National Guard will conduct a PCR molecular COVID-19 test at the airport and it will be mandatory for the traveler to quarantine and cover their own medical expenses/possible extended stay.
  • The quarantine is mandated until the traveler receives the negative test result and digitally uploads proof of a negative PCR molecular COVID-19 test result to the Puerto Rico Health Department’s online portal. A list of testing sites in Puerto Rico will be available at the airport and can also be found here. Those who test positive will not be able to travel until the Health Department releases them.

Guidelines and tips for experiencing Island activities

  • Only those who are not fully vaccinated (including children ages 2-11) or are immunocompromised are required to wear masks, unless inside of a health center or airport, where masks are required for everyone.
  • Access to Old San Juan from 12:00 AM – 5:00 AM is limited to residents and tourists staying in the area.
  • Enjoyment of attractions and tours:
    • Public beaches and natural reserves are open, following social distancing guidelines. Fully vaccinated people are not required to wear masks at beaches and parks. Museums and hotel pool facilities are operating at full capacity.
    • Marinas are open, following social distancing guidelines.
    • Visitors should connect with their tour operators directly for additional information about operation status and specific protocols.
  • Businesses are open:
    • All businesses including restaurants, theaters, malls, casinos, supermarkets, pharmacies, and gas stations are operating at full capacity.
    • Bars and discos are open at full capacity, along with game rooms. Outdoor bars and “chinchorros” require a physical distance of six (6) feet between those who are not from the same family unit.
    • Hair salons, barbershops, and individual spas are open and appointments are highly suggested.
    • Some businesses, such as lodging options and spas, may require proof of a negative test result or vaccination upon arrival. It is recommended that visitors check entry requirements prior to visiting.
    • Local businesses have the ability to set rules and limitations that exceed local government requirements. Please be mindful and respect local business mask requirements and other limitations.
  • Events are up and running:
    • Sports events, as well as sports and recreational activities, are permitted, following local guidelines.
    • Social activities, including corporate or business events, are permitted at full capacity, and attendees are required to provide either a negative PCR, antigen test result, or proof of full vaccination, particularly for those containing 500 people or more.
    • Parades, processions, fairs, festivals, and similar activities are allowed.
